Our Own Traditions

This year my husband and I are hosting Thanksgiving. It's our first, even though we've been married for five years. Living in the city is not always conducive to entertaining big sit down dinners. Although our space is beautiful, and we do throw a great cocktail party, we decided to start with a few traditions of our own. The first is that we're not doing turkey. Neither of us like it that much, and we decided to do something else. My husband is a bit of a foodie, and he likes mix it up. The second, which I tried to introduce a few years ago but it was not well received, is that I want each person to bring something that they have written that they are grateful for. David will read it out loud. I think at times like these, it's important to give thanks. Even if there's no turkey involved.
